What you leave with. Free.

Every section below is on the free results page. Nothing in this list is behind the paywall.

Your resistance pattern, named

Not a type. The specific pattern that has been keeping you circling - named from your own answers, with what it sounds like in your head and what it’s costing you.

Your Life Readiness

Where you actually are relative to everyone else who has taken it - not a grade, a starting position.

Urgency, clarity, friction

Three scores out of ten, plus what their combination means. High urgency with low clarity is a different problem from high clarity with high friction, and the read says which one you have.

The pattern you can’t see

The AI reads what you wrote - the phrasing, the thing you circled twice, the thing you left out - and says the part you didn’t say out loud.

Your emotional snapshot

How you feel right now, next to how you feel when you imagine the change actually happening. The gap between those two is usually the whole story.

One move today, one rule this week

Not a program. One concrete thing to do while you still have the page open, and one thing to stop doing for the next seven days.

The paid tiers - a $29 Leap Report and a $97 seven-day audio program - go deeper on the same pattern. They're optional, and the free result stands on its own.

How it works.

1

Answer in your own words. About 10 minutes.

What your life feels like right now. How much of it you chose. Which areas are furthest out of alignment. What you’d be doing in 90 days if everything went right. Most of the answers are yours to write, not multiple choice.

2

The AI reads what you actually wrote.

Not keyword matching against a category list. It reads your phrasing and the patterns across your answers together, then names the pattern in the way - and the payoff you’re quietly getting from keeping it.

3

Your full results page. Free.

Your pattern, your scores, the read on what you didn’t say, and one move to make today. Enter your name and email to open it and a copy lands in your inbox.

What 278 people actually couldn’t change.

First-party, from our own completed Life Leap assessments (14 February to 26 August 2026) — not a survey panel. Every rate carries its 95% interval, because 278 is a small corpus and we’d rather show you that than round it away.

What the change is about

Work or career51.1%
Who they are becoming20.1%
A relationship11.2%
Health9.4%
Creative work5.0%
Where they live3.2%

Which pattern is in the way

Paralysis - too many options, no move23.0%
Fear of failure20.9%
Security - the cost of letting go17.6%
Timing - waiting for the right moment9.7%
Worth - not feeling entitled to it9.0%
Obligation to other people7.2%

Percentages are of the 278-assessment corpus with 95% Wilson intervals in brackets. The top two patterns’ intervals overlap, so which one is most common is genuinely unresolved — we’re not going to pick one for a headline. The full breakdown, and the tools we’d send you to instead, are in our life-assessment roundup.

What a life assessment actually does.

A life assessment is a structured look at where you actually are - what you’re avoiding, what’s draining you, what you say you want - that gives you back something you can act on. The common form is a wheel of life: you rate eight areas out of ten, and the shape shows you which slice is thinnest. That’s a useful picture, and it stops exactly where the hard part starts, because knowing which area is weakest was never the thing standing in your way.

Life assessment, life audit, life evaluation, self-assessment: the words are interchangeable and it doesn’t matter which one brought you here. The difference between tools is the output. A score describes your situation. A named pattern - what you do instead of starting, what you get out of not starting, and the one move that interrupts it - is something you can use tonight.

Why it reads your writing instead of scoring you.

Most of the questions here are open text, which is slower to answer and the entire reason the result can be specific. A rating scale can only tell you how much of something you have. Your own sentences carry what you keep circling back to, the thing you mention once and drop, and the gap between what you rank as most important and where you say the pain actually is. Those are what the pattern is read from - so a thin answer really does produce a thinner result.

Who this is for, and who it isn’t.

Take it if

  • You keep almost starting something and it never quite begins.
  • You can describe the change you want, clearly, and you still haven’t made it.
  • You’ve been in the same loop long enough that “next year” has stopped meaning anything.
  • You’ve done the books, the retreats, the coach - and one thing still hasn’t moved.

Skip it if

  • You want a wheel-of-life score to track quarterly. This names one pattern; it isn’t a dashboard.
  • You want a personality type to share. There’s no type here and nothing to compare against friends.
  • You want clinical care. This is a self-assessment, not therapy or diagnosis - and if you’re in crisis, contact a local crisis line instead.
  • You want the answer in three minutes. It takes about ten because it reads what you write.

Still comparing? We wrote up the alternatives honestly, including the ones we’d send you to instead: the best life assessments.

Questions people ask first.

Is this life assessment really free?

Yes. You answer the questions, enter your name and email, and the full result is yours free: your resistance pattern named, your readiness and urgency/clarity/friction scores, the pattern you can’t see in your own answers, and one move to make today. The Leap Report ($29) and the 7-Day Leap ($97) are optional upgrades. The free result stands on its own.

What is a life assessment, exactly?

A life assessment looks at where you actually are - what you’re avoiding, what’s draining you, what you say you want - and reports back something you can act on. Most versions are wheel-of-life self-ratings: you score eight areas out of ten and get a shape. This one is different in one specific way: it reads what you write in your own words and names the pattern that has been keeping you where you are, rather than scoring you into a category.

How long does it take?

About 10 minutes. Some of the questions are open text and you can take longer on those if you want to - your written answers are what the result is built from, so a thin answer produces a thinner result.

Do I have to give my email?

Yes - your results page is unlocked with your first name and email, and a copy of your pattern breakdown is sent to you. No credit card, and nothing is charged at any point unless you choose to buy a deep-dive afterwards.

Is this a personality test?

No. It doesn’t sort you into a type. It’s looking for the specific thing standing between you and a change you say you want - the avoidance pattern, the payoff you’re getting from staying, the gap between the values you rank highest and where the pain actually is.

Is this therapy, or a replacement for it?

Neither. It’s a self-assessment, not treatment, and it isn’t delivered by a licensed clinician. It can name a pattern quickly and give you somewhere to start; if what you’re carrying is heavier than that, a therapist is the right call and this is not a substitute. If you are in crisis, contact a local emergency service or a crisis line.

What do the paid options add?

The free result names your pattern and gives you one move. The Leap Report ($29) maps the pattern in full - what triggers it, how it operates, the counter-moves for your type - plus a 72-hour action plan and what staying is costing you. The 7-Day Leap ($97) adds a personalized seven-day audio program. Both are optional, and both carry a 14-day money-back guarantee.

What if I’ve already done a lot of this work?

Then the interesting result is usually not the obvious one. People who have done the retreats, read the books and hired the coach tend to have one pattern they can’t see precisely because they built it. The assessment reads what you wrote rather than what you already know about yourself, which is the only reason it can surface that.
